September 2nd was not only the first day for the class of 2029, it also brought a significant addition to the faculty: Mr. PJ Bjorneby has arrived to help shape the future of the Chaminade Bloomberg program. His investment banking career spans two decades at leading global institutions. He became a Managing Director during his 13 years at Lehman Brothers and Barclays, before concluding his career in 2020 after 5 years at Bank of America. These experiences fostered growth not only in his personal life, but also in his professional career. As new students explore the school, Mr. Bjorneby is getting settled not only in Chaminade’s premier Bloomberg investment laboratory, but also on the lacrosse field.

Looking back on his experience and how he would apply it at Chaminade, he remarked, “Across the Bloomberg finance classes, Honors Business, and the investment club, I’m focused on making the experience as realistic as possible.” Immersing students in a professional environment nurtures their development and creates unity, which is a priority for Chaminade. More recently, he joined Hofstra University, coaching the lacrosse program and helping students build financial literacy. His decades of experience, coupled with extensive teaching, provide a firm foundation for students aiming at careers in investment, advisory, and economics.

“Chaminade’s investment program is distinctive, anchored by 20 Bloomberg terminals and live ticker tape that signal the school’s commitment to advanced financial literacy. “Even though I’ve used Bloomberg for over 20 years, I’m challenging myself every day to find more, and to unlock more of what Bloomberg can do to help all of the students,” Mr. Bjorneby said. Mr. Bjorneby will be working alongside Mr. Kevin St. Pierre ’85 to guide the program. Combined, they have more than 50 years of experience on Wall Street. The Chaminade financial literacy course, with its exclusive Bloomberg terminals, is the most technologically advanced high school educational trading floor in the United States.”

Amid introductions and settling into campus life, he’s already looking ahead: “What I’m most excited about, in the classroom and on the lacrosse field, is the day our graduates return and say, ‘That Bloomberg Financial lesson really mattered.’” For Mr. Bjorneby, it’s not just about the syllabus—it’s about positioning students for lasting success on and off the field.
